Pitot tube mount, §31-11, -32

Vans stepped up to the plate and FedEx'ed a part to me to replace an incorrect one.  It was just a few minutes to mount the brackets to the plate and then clecoed (but not riveted) into the leading edge of the wing.

I really want to dive in a work fast to finish things as quickly as possible, but the rumor mill on Van's Air Force suggests that that may not be a good idea.   It sounds like the next kit (fuselage) won't be offered for sale until January and deliveries are not expected until March or April.   Going slow, that means I can put on the left skins in November, right skins in December, cove skins & attachments in January, and work on the tail feathers during February & March.   Ugh.

To make matters even more interesting, the rumor is that not only will the fuselage kit be offered in January, but also the Finish Kit and Firewall Forward Kit,   I have no idea about how that would work, nor why would Vans do that instead of offering the kits in sequence. I think that I'd rather have the fuselage kit sooner and be content for the finish and FWF kits later.

Finally, we have to try to predict the future with respect to Lycoming's delivery of an engine.  It's not unreasonable to think it might be two years from deposit, so I may end up ordering that sometime soon, too.  Oh, by the way, there's a $1000 discount if the propeller is ordered from Hartzell at the same time as the engine.   This is going to cost a fair amount of cash up front that I'll be paying interest on,  Oh, well.  No one feels sorry for anyone who owns an airplane.  Or two,  Or three,
